Christopher Hogan, MD, FACS

Dr. Christopher Hogan earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology (with a minor in chemistry) from Berry College in Rome, GA. While at Berry, Dr. Hogan participated in several research efforts, including long-term potentiation, limb locomotion in rats and problem solving in children. He then spent nearly a year researching molecular biology and neuroanatomy at Colorado State University, before entering the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA. He earned a doctorate of medicine from Mercer in 2004. Between 2005 until 2012, he completed his preliminary internal medicine internship, a general surgery residency and surgical critical care fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia. He previously practiced acute care surgery, trauma and surgical critical care in Tennessee before returning to Augusta. Dr. Hogan and his wife, Emily, a nurse, have two children. The Hogan family enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and going to the lake.
